Places to visit in North Devon and Exmoor

You will be spoilt for choice planning your days out.

Perhaps you will want to explore the lovely country-side and coast – or visit the many National Trust properties in Devon, as well as beautiful gardens such as RHS Garden Rosemoor, Marwood Hill and Docton Mill. The world-renowned Eden Project is about 90-mins drive away; you could take in Bodmin Moor on the way, or go on to the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Boat trips to Lundy start from Bideford and Ilfracombe, and there are evening cruises too.

In Great Torrington, you will find Dartington Crystal, and also experience Torrington 1646 which celebrates the last battle of the English Civil War.

Perhaps you want some more active pursuits. Devon has some of the best golf courses in the country, and we have personal knowledge of most of them to help you.

There is excellent sea and river fishing, horse-riding on both Exmoor and Dartmoor, wonderful walks (including the famous Tarka Trail, for both walkers and cyclists, which covers about 180 miles of footpath – cycles are available for hire from several locations).
